Bluffy
An Island Worth Visiting
Web 3

About
Bluffy is a Web3 entertainment brand built for people who've never touched Web3. Its bet is that the category won't grow by explaining itself better, it'll grow when it stops feeling like a category at all, and starts feeling like somewhere you'd want to hang out.

Merchandise
A brand that feels like a vacation, built for an audience that gives you a second and a half to prove you're worth staying for.
The easy way to win that second and a half is volume. But loud is the opposite of relaxed, and relaxed was the whole point.
So the brand had to be instantly noticeable and completely unhurried. Same brand, no compromise between the two.
Strategy
Lead with a character instead of a product.
A product only appears when someone is using it. A character appears anywhere on a t-shirt, in a fifteen-second loop, in a comment thread. It gives a brand something to say when it has nothing to announce.
So we ran opposite to the category. Not night, but daylight. Not tension, but holiday. In a room where every brand performs seriousness, warmth is what gets remembered.

Identity
Bluffy is a chip and a life ring at the same time. The thing you play with, and the thing you float on. We drew him from the bones up: how tall, how wide, where the eyes sit, how he reads when he's tiny on a phone. Get that right once and he works everywhere after.

Application
We knew he'd end up on caps and pins, so we kept the lines simple enough to be stitched and the shapes clean enough to be enamelled. Then we gave him somewhere to go — a beach, a desert, cherry blossoms. Now the brand isn't posting. It's telling a story people come back for.

Outcome
Close to 5,000 pieces of merch sold on day one. People didn't buy a logo, they bought a character they'd already decided they liked. That's the whole argument for building a brand this way, and it settled itself in twenty-four hours.
